TPC is in the die cutting business to create enhanced efficiencies in producing the highest quality folding carton packaging. Craftsmanship and experience are the backbone of this area and have enabled the department to fully utilize automated tools that have increased speeds and efficiencies three or four times over the past three years. The equipment keeps getting faster and more efficient. It is the workflow that has the constant oversight of experienced management. Critical attention to this phase of the operation ensures packaging integrity for the end user. Automated rule bending equipment was added in 2002.
Printing Operations: TPC has been in the printing business since
1924. The first press was a letterpress. The same craftsmanship used to
print on TPC's first letterpress is the cornerstone for the printing
that is currently fully automated. All presses are enhanced with color
management tools that tie our contract proof to the press room. TPC
recognized the need for a closed loop color management system earlier
than most of its competitors. TPC was selected as a beta site for
DuPont's ColorPerfect color management system. TPC was one of three
companies globally to participate in the beta test for DuPont.
Today, TPC utilizes a similar color management system that has
increased technology from analog to spectral data. "TPC's philosophy of
printing quality into the job not inspecting it out of the job reduces
waste and cost that is passed on to our customers", says Joey
Schmissrauter, President of TPC and part of the third generation of
Schmissrauter family management.
Even today, the instruction sheet
to the pressroom is a color accurate contract proof. "Time is of the
essence and most of our customers sign off on a color accurate proof,
trust us to match and save themselves the cost of on site press
approvals," states John Rothera, TPC pressroom superintendent with over
35 years of printing experience.
